Checkered House
written & composed by D. Webster [April, 1989] c1991 (SOCAN)

Out on the edge of town,
there's a little black house;
In that little black house,
there lives a little black girl;
Now all the boys in town,
they make their way on round;
To that little black house,
out on the edge of town;

They sing high, they sing low,
sing anyway the wind blows.

Now out on the other edge of town,
there's a little white house;
In that little white house,
there lives a little white girl;
Now all the boys in town,
they make their way on round;
To that little white house,
out on the edge of town;

They sing high, they sing low,
sing anyway the wind blows.

Now about half way through town,
there's a little checkered house;
In that little checkered house,
there lives a pretty little checkered girl;
Now all the boys in town,
they make their way on round;
To that little checkered house,
right in the midst of town;

They sing high, they sing low,
sing anyway the wind blows ...
