Could I Count on
You
written & composed by Doug Webster c1982
If I said to you, "I am
leaving"
would you pack you bags and follow
or would you say that road's too rocky
say that I'm not worth that much
Would you not be impressed,
by a man with a little bit less
than me
Or would you say that I'd gone
crazy
say I'd lost my common sense
tell I am being cruel to you
expecting you to accept less
Would you not be impressed,
by a man with a little bit less
than me
And if I fell, would be there at
my side;
not be embarrassed, no tears to cry?
Would you just say, "come on get up Baby,
you've got the strength?"
Could I count on you to help me then?
Or would you say, I've been
stupid
Tell me I have played the fool
Thinking I could walk my own path
make myself a better man
Would you not be impressed,
by a man with a little bit less
than me
And if I fell, would be there at
my side;
not be embarrassed, no tears to cry?
Would you just say, "come on get up Baby,
you've got the strength?"
Could I count on you to help me then? |
