Cry Yourself To Sleep
written & composed by D. Webster & E. Goodine [~Oct., 1979] c1991 (SOCAN)

Have your emotions ever slipped past on you
so that your not sure just how you feel
about the people who you've known
or the things that you have done?

And you feel kind of scared, you know it's no fun
you look back to see but your feet start to run
the pace keeps increasing till you stumble and fall
your face hits the pavement but what hurts most of all,

is the pain, from a heart torn in two
and though you try to forget the love you once knew
the pain keeps increasing while your mind comes apart
and it all starts to happen though you try not to start.

Then ripping through your nostrils comes the smell of her perfume
you remember every movement as she walked across the room
with the curtains closed behind her, the sunlight peeping through
the last thing you remember were the words she said to you,

but those words don't mean as much as they did the day before
and you lose your mind to loneliness when you won't step out your door
then you tell yourself you can't go out cause your heart ain't in one piece
well the last thing you remember is a haunting disbelief.

Then you'll cry .., you'll cry yourself to sleep ....
