Leaving
written & composed by Doug Webster c1979

Her minds made up so she bought her ticket today
Packing her suitcase she knows no way she can stay
She calls a cab then she leaves the phone off the hook
Walking into the street not one last look

She climbs into the cab no need to speak
Feels good as the cab weaves through the streets
She closes her eyes, feels slightly worn

Kind'a like she felt when she first left home

She's leaving now and she won't be back
been hurt before but never like that

She fixes her face as they arrive
Stepping through the gate she feels alive
The porter takes her case and carries it through
She smiles, hands him five, she feels brand new

Then boarding the plane she knows she can't turn back
Holding her purse by her side she starts to relax
And as the plane takes off, her heart soars
Forgetting everything that hurt her before

She's leaving now and she won't be back

been hurt before but never like that
