When You're Sinking Low
written & composed by Doug Webster c1982,2000

You turn away and close your eyes
You hope to suppress feelings deep inside
You spend your time, trying new ways to escape
But each new route you take,
leads you back to the place
you began.

Let it in, let it out
Let it come, let it go
Let the tide rise high
Let the cold wind blow
Let your feelings ebb
When you're sinking low
Let it go

You wear a smile, to hide the pain
Hoping no one, catches you forging your chain
Your voice is soft, your words gently flow
But the tales that you spin
Form a web deep within
your soul.

Let it in, let it out
Let it come, let it go
Let the tide rise high
Let the cold wind blow
Let your feelings ebb
When you're sinking low
Let it go

You set things aside to clear your way
Unaware of the traps you lay
And then you walk, with head held high
But the path you tread is occupied
By all the things you've tried
to hide away.

Let it in, let it out
Let it come, let it go
Let the tide rise high
Let the cold wind blow
Let your feelings ebb
When you're sinking low
Let it go
