In 1986, he did the "Between City and Country" tape with the idea of using it as a demo to sell his songs. Doug was also exploring his country roots on this tape and he put together a studio band for the recording.
And, Doug's friend Joe Frey (ex of The Bureaucrats) was also in Toronto doing his music. Joe introduced Doug to Rick Walters who ended up playing double bass. Gordon Grirvan was on keyboards. Tom Rogers was working at Kensington Sound, where the recording was done, so he produced and played guitar on the recording. This band didn't play any live shows because Doug wasn't interested in that at the time. But Lori did put together the band Rang Tango around this time with Ed on drums. |
